Maintaining Almost Daily Habits and Commitments

This article has a good idea… it suggests consistency as the way of establishing any new habit and making sure it will happen.

Anything worth doing is worth doing every day… day in, day out.

Meditation, spiritual work, being active, reading, learning… as a campaign they are all doomed to fail… but as a daily practice they build the foundation of a spectacular life.

When established, a daily habit becomes second nature. Just like cleaning your teeth in the morning or taking a shower – it would feel wrong to not do it. However with infrequent habits like music practise 3-6 times per week, or exercise twice per week, taking a day off can cause it to be harder to pick it up again afterwards. Then in one fell sweep your positive habit has been ruined completely, and everyday somehow becomes a holiday from it.

Turn a weekly habit into a daily one.

Paris In The Spring Or The Benefits Of An Empty Mind

Paris in the spring with Paris Hilton shoesParis in the spring… nice thought.

Stay with me for a moment!

I am part of a study group. We go to seminars together to learn integrity so we can live an unpredictably great life.

This past Sunday, when the sun was shining and it was the first nice-weather weekend of the year, five out of the seven members of the group forgot to call our conference line on Sunday. Paris in the spring…

The seminar leader suggested we declare a breakdown. “What’s declaring a breakdown?” Asked one of the members innocently.

I volunteered to write a little essay (that is like a one-page scientific paper, lol) and sent it out to everyone. And then the s-h-i-t hit the fan. Continue reading “Paris In The Spring Or The Benefits Of An Empty Mind”

The 9/11 of Japan, desire to receive for the self alone, A Spiritual Interpretation

End Of Times, The Earthquake, The Tsunami, The Nuclear Threat, Hydrogen Peroxide, desire to receive for the self alone, A Spiritual Interpretation

earthquake in japanWhy did the earthquake in Japan happen, what about the tsunami and the threat of radiation from the nuclear plant, desire to receive for the self alone? A spiritual interpretation

There are two major attitudes that “humanity” uses to look at an event. Both are desire to receive for the self alone.

1. personal. the question is asked? why me? how did I deserve this? or “father, why did you forsake me?”
2. global i.e. not personal. The tone is blame and “there is nothing I can do about it” “I am not at fault” and the like.

Both attitudes are faulty and driven by ego and a profound misunderstanding of how it all works.

1. On the personal level, though there is karma, there is cause and effect, the cause is so far removed (decades, often lifetimes) that the connection is hard if not impossible to see. Continue reading “The 9/11 of Japan, desire to receive for the self alone, A Spiritual Interpretation”

When it comes to your life, Are you a race car driver or…

race car driverWhen it comes to your life, Are you a race car driver or a hop-into-the car grocery shopper

Said in another way: If Your Life Were A Car, Who Is Driving Your Life?

This article is about your relationship with your life. It is fundamental, it is at the root of you never amounting to all you can be, it is at the root of why most people can only evolve a little bit in a lifetime (many go backwards!)

Mastering this area of life is the difference between a winner and a loser, and it is so subtle, that without someone pointing it out to you, you would notice no difference.

Let’s start at the beginning: in life you accomplish some stuff (right?) and don’t accomplish some other stuff. You win some races, and you lose some others.

Let’s call all the stuff that you get done an accomplishment, and all the stuff that you don’t (but would like to have done) stuff that you don’t accomplish. OK? Continue reading “When it comes to your life, Are you a race car driver or…”

Would The Michelangelo Method Work For You With Your Money Blueprint?

money blueprintThe Michelangelo Method and your money blueprint

In a previous article I told you about the three-phase methodology of changing your money blueprint, that will allow you to make, keep, and enjoy more financial benefits than your money blueprint currently allows you to have.

The 3 steps were:

The first part of the process is to diagnose.
The second part of the process is to shift.
The third part of the process is to  create a new set-point.

What are not spoken of in the plan are the common actions we all do that backfire and make all our actions ineffective, and work against our best interest.

I dubbed this method the Michelangelo Method because it has its emphasis on removing these actions, thoughts, and beliefs, in one word the causes, that work against the masterpiece you were meant to be. By removing these active elements (the part of you that is not the masterpiece), you’ll be left with your masterpiece… just like Michelangelo was left with David after he chipped away everything that was not David. How to raise your consciousness to the level of guru in 18 months?

raise your consciousness

How to raise your consciousness, wretched to guru in 18 months?

I had a conversation with a friend of mine. She is the kind of friend that is in and out of my life… she lives a dramatic life and she needs help, technical, health, money, legal… that is the basis of our relationship.

I used to be the kind of person she is, and I have compassion. She doesn’t bring me down, and I enjoy her unique view of life… she is a transgendered, was born a man, and she lives as a woman. She never changed her name… she once got kicked out of an apartment because her name said Jeffrey (not her real name.)

I was recounting to her the miraculous rise of my consciousness… and she asked what she could do to raise hers. Continue reading “How to raise your consciousness to the level of guru in 18 months?”

The Wall, The Ladder, and Your Life’s Purpose: How do you get Guidance from The Soul?

guidance from the soulMany people walk around with an immense amount of knowledge. Yet, in their professional life, they jump from one thing to the other. They’re directionless because they zigzag. They go to this direction and then they go to that direction and they go in the third direction and then they return to the first one, and on and on it goes.

That’s how my life looked for years after I finished publishing the magazine and this is how my friend’s life looks.

He’s my chiropractor friend. He has a business, he’s a chiropractor. He has been a chiropractor for 23 years. He knows a lot about how to adjust people. He has added energy work and Ayurveda but his heart isn’t into it.

So he publishes a newsletter, he does self-improvement work, he volunteers, he follows a guru, he goes to India, he goes to ski, he does all kinds of things. He even recorded an audio-book for me,  but after all this doing, you can see, that he has no direction, he has no path.

He has a lot of knowledge, a lot of possibilities, but no direction, no ‘Guidance from The Soul.’ Just restlessness, and a sense that it’s all fun, and it’s all good, but it isn’t going anywhere.

Here is this little story that may shed some light to what’s missing for him, and what may be missing for you.

In this story the job is to put a ladder next to a wall and that is the job to do. The manager gets the workers put up the tall ladder and then they are working for instructions to what to do next. Except that they put up the ladder against the wrong wall. What happened?

The idea came to put up the ladder, but the wall wasn’t specified. It should have come, but there was no leader…

The leader is the person who decides on the specific wall. The manager is the middleman who makes the workers put up the ladder against the correct wall, and the workers are the people who do the work.

When we are talking about your life’s work, or your life purpose, your path: who is the leader, who is the manager, and who is the worker?
